Most people understand that, in general, illnesses or injuries that existed before joining a health insurance scheme will be excluded. However this most often applies if you are uninsured prior to joining.
If you are transferring from another recognised UK health scheme, and have received treatment, or are currently receiving treatment for which you have made a claim, you may be accepted without exclusions for that treatment.
You should note that in these circumstances your previous insurer will be contacted by BUPA International.
